Thank you School Sainte Marie

Friday 20th April (20 days before leaving) we went back to the Sainte Marie school to say them Good Bye and See you soon!

Program included: Gifts, games, a lot of smiles, some questions and at last but not least a lot of enthusiasm.
In fact the pupils of Madame Anne and the CE1 of Monsieur Antoine made Pomme Pidou an exciting surprise: she get a cute scarf for winter time and a fan for hot weather. We received a book mark to better use our guides. Pomme Pidou loves her new scarf.

Children had also a lots of questions to ask about our trip: How do you travel? Do you have enough money? Where do you sleep? Which animals will you see?....

They also had a lots of questions for their classmates of the world: Which games do you play? How do you go to school? Do you have television? Do you eat chicken and fries? What do you wear?...
Then the school bell rang! It was time for recreation! First we played “traditional games” such as “Wolf”. (One child is a wolf, he has to catch another child who become the new wolf, etc, etc…) Game ends when kids are tired…or when the bell rings (….Kids are inexhaustible)
When the youngest children went back to the classroom, we organised others recreational activities with them:

-      -   The “Parachute”: This colourful sheet that we show them last time was a success. Kids love it.
-
  -        - The “ball-wolf”: One of the children is designated as wolf and he has a ball. If he hits another player with the ball without the ball hurting the ground, the player becomes the wolf and has to hit another one…

-       -  The “snake-cat”: One child is designated as the head of the snake. He has to hit another player who becomes the snake's body and stay behind the first player (they can join hands ) . Together, they have to hit other players, who continues to complete the snake's body. They keep playing until only one player remains.
-
      - Clock: Half of students (minus one) forms a circle and has a ball, the other half takes place outside the circle. The facilitator indicates a time (for example 3 hours), children of the circle must get the ball as quickly as possible to do 3 laps, the other players have to turns around the circle and do 3 turns each. Fastest (either children of the circle or the others) win the race. The first arrived at 3 points won.

-        - Microbes: 3 microbes and 2 doctors are chosen. Microbes do not know the doctors, they must infect other players. If they touch a doctor, he is not a doctor anymore but he is not yet contaminated and can escape. If microbes touch a player " non- doctor " he is sick (It means he is frozen and stays in place). He needs a doctor to be healed (defreeze in taping into his hand.) If doctors are discovered and lose their immunity, microbes win.

It's really interesting to watch the children play: There are bad players who often grumble, there are timid ones participating calmly, some tactics, inventing strategies to win, other authoritarian who want to decide everything, and there is the never happy who wants to play football when we do something else and want to do something else when we play football ... But all these characters together form a beautiful cacophony and a bowl of good humor.

Children also made us nice drawings... you can discover them here.

This half day really boosted us for the trip, we can’t wait to meet other pupils and bring them answers to their questions.
