They will travel
for 18 months around the world. Their feet will meet the 5 continents. Start
point is Kenya and End Point will be Canada.
The major project
will be axed on the 7th principle of the DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD proclaimed in 1959 which gives
all children the right of having recreation. (“[…]The child shall have full opportunity for play and recreation,
which should be directed to the same purposes as education; society and the
public authorities shall endeavor to promote the enjoyment of this right.”).
During this Round trip they will meet elementary schools and discuss with the
pupils about plays and games they like. They will create a collection of
regional and local games and share it with a maximum of people. Playing is
universal even if cultures and languages are different. In fact games seem to
be the best way to discover a culture through kids ‘eyes… And playing is also
the best solution against sadness.
Beside this
guiding idea throughout their journey, it will also be a great opportunity for them
to discover the treasures hiding by the earth, the nature and the people and of
course the chance to understand new cultures. To be in contact with locals they
will camp, couch surf, hitch hike… and talk, talk, talk.
Floriane and Romain are two
french natives. they met 5 years ago at school and from that time they share their
lives. Since they were kids, they are avid of travels. After getting their
Master degrees (2010 for Romain and 2011 for Floriane) in Engineering, they
focused on this big project and decided to dare to do it. They both like sports
such as bungee jumping, sky diving, snorkeling, canyoning… and more. They love
travels and during their long weekends they discover European capitals!!! They
won’t be alone during this journey because they will travel with Pomme Pidou, their
“mascot” she is a “bunny” Teddy bear because at home they have a small rabbit
called “pomme”. Pome Pidou will be their best friend.
